Small Things Big Difference Part 2

It’s often the small things that no one sees
that result in the big things that everyone wants.


Your life will always move in the direction of your strongest thoughts.

Proverbs 23:7 (NKJV) For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.

  • If you think you can’t, you probably won’t. If you think you can, you probably will.
  • If you dwell on problems, they will overwhelm you. If you look for opportunities, you will likely see some.
  • If you feel like a victim, you will become one. If you believe you can overcome, you can.

Romans 12:2 (NLT) Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.


1.  Capture destructive thoughts. 

2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (NIV) For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

Strongholds, in the Greek, means “a prisoner locked by deception.” We live our life on a lie. We are to demolish the lies. We need to determine what is true and what is trash.

Truth or Trash?
“I am worth nothing.” “God doesn’t love me.” “I am a masterpiece.”

Trash: I’m a mess up. God can’t use me.
Truth: God works all things for good.
Trash: I can’t overcome. I’ve been addicted too long.
Truth: You are an overcomer in Christ.
Trash: I’ve blown it. God can’t love me.
Truth: Nothing separates you from God’s love.

2.  Fix your thoughts on spiritual things. 

Philippians 4:8-9 (NLT) And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise . . . .Then the God of peace will be with you.

We capture lies and focus our thoughts on spiritual things. Why? Your life will move in the direction of your strongest thoughts. Are you a vulture or hummingbird? Vultures look for dead things. Hummingbirds look for sweet things. You will always find what you are looking for. If you look for spiritual things you will find them everywhere.

How? Set the tone of your day with something spiritual. 5-5-5 Plan!
