Small Things Big Difference Part 3
It’s often the small things that no one sees
that result in the big things that everyone wants.
Proverbs 18:21 (NIV) The tongue has the power of life and death.
Our words are either life-giving (LG) or life-taking (LT). If you want to change the life you have, you need to change the words you speak.
James 3:3-5 (NLT) We can make a large horse go wherever we want by means of a small bit in its mouth. And a small rudder makes a huge ship turn wherever the pilot chooses to go, even though the winds are strong. In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire.
Proverbs 12:18 (NIV) The words of the reckless pierce like swords [LT], but the tongue of the wise brings healing [LG].
Proverbs 15:4 (NIV) The soothing tongue is a tree of life [LG], but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit [LT words].

Small changes in our words makes a big difference in our lives.
SPEAKING LIFE GIVING WORDS
1) If you can’t say something helpful—skip it.
Ephesians 4:29 (KJV) Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
2) If you think something good—say it.
Proverbs 16:24 (NIV) Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.
Don’t just encourage others with your words—encourage yourself.
David encouraged himself in the Lord his God (1 Sam 30:6).
3) If you want to see it—say it.
Mark 11:23 (NIV) “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.”
Only say things you can add this phrase to: “That’s the way I want it.”
