Thoughts Become Things Part 3: Taking Thoughts Captive

Thoughts Become Things Part 3: Taking Thoughts Captive

The average person has 12,000 to 60,000 thoughts a day.

  • 90% of those thoughts are repetitive
  • 80% of those thoughts are negative.

Deuteronomy 15:9 (NLB) Be careful that there is no sinful thought in your heart.

Romans 14:23 (KJV) . . . whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

Sin is not necessarily the bad things we do, as much as the bad things we believe. What we think about we bring about!

The Law of Attraction states, “If you can hold a simple thought for as little as 68 seconds, without contradicting it, that thought becomes dominate.” Dominate thoughts manifest things into your life—until you create a new dominate thought.

THE POWER OF REPENTANCE

Repentance means, “a change of mind and a turn of heart.”

Matthew 3:8 (NIV) Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.

Your life must bear the fruits of turning toward righteousness. – VOICE

We repent, we turn toward righteousness, when we . . .

  • Own where we are. We let God’s Word expose the condition of our heart and we accept personal responsibility.
  • Change our heart beliefs. That negative repetitive wheel playing in our heart is messing our life up. It needs to change.

Proverbs 14:12 (NKJV) There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.

We have to conquer Satan’s lies. God is not the only one trying to plant seed in the soil of your heart.

  • Bring our thoughts into captivity. We need to intentionally build in our hearts the things we want.

Luke 24:47 (KJV) Repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name [Jesus] among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Remission means, “to be released from the bondage, imprisonment, and penalty of sin.”

Luke 24:47 (Literal) Changing your mind and turning your heart and being released from the bondage, imprisonment, and penalty of the sin you’re experiencing should be preached in Jesus’s name among all nations!

The beliefs of your heart either enslave you or free you! Jesus said, “. . . the truth will make you free (John 8:32).”

2 Corinthians 10:5 (ERV) We destroy every proud thing that raises itself against the knowledge of God. And we capture (catch) every thought and make it give up and obey Christ.

John 17:23 (The Passion Translation) For the very glory you have given to me I have given them so that they will be joined together as one and experience the same unity that we enjoy. You live fully in me and now I live fully in them so that they will experience perfect unity, and the world will be convinced that you have sent me, for they will see that you love each one of them with the same passionate love that you have for me.

Psalm 139:23 (BASIC) O God, let the secrets of my heart be uncovered, and let my wandering thoughts be tested.
