If My People Part 2: Humbling Ourselves

If My People Part 2: Humbling Ourselves

2 Chronicles 7:14 (NLT) If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.

  • If you humble self, I will hear.
  • If you seek me, I will forgive.
  • If you turn, I will restore.

A big part of us humbling ourselves, seeking God, and turning away from sin is seeing the truth.

Isaiah 6:8-10 (NIV) I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” He said, “Go and tell this people: “‘Be ever hearing, but never understanding; be ever seeing, but never perceiving.’ [Pride] Make the heart of this people calloused; make their ears dull and close their eyes. Otherwise [Humility] they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed [restored].”

We are praying for lies to be exposed and truth to be revealed. For blinders to fall off! For humble hearts that see the truth.

Psalm 25:8-10 (TLB) The Lord is good and glad to teach the proper path to all who go astray; he will teach the ways that are right and best to those who humbly turn to him. And when we obey him, every path he guides us on is fragrant with his loving-kindness and his truth.

John 8:31-32 (TLB) Jesus said to them, “You are truly my disciples if you live as I tell you to, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Psalms 119:130 (KJV) The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.

The word “simple” can be translated immature, childish, or untrained. You’ve never trained your flesh.

Psalms 119:130 (TPT) Break open your word within me until revelation-light shines out! Those with open hearts are given insight into your plans.

The word “simple” could also be translated open-minded.

God wants us to live our dreams and be happy. The only thing preventing this is our beliefs.

John 17:17 (KJV) Sanctify them through thy truth: thy Word is truth.

Any beliefs, ideas, concepts, opinions, traditions or superstitions, I have, that’s not in agreement with God’s Word, is not truth. If I continue to accept these beliefs as truth, my beliefs will bring pain and problems into my life. Why? Because I am deceived.

Hebrews 3:13 (GW) Encourage each other every day while you have the opportunity. If you do this, none of you will be deceived by sin and become stubborn.

Colossians 2:8 (MSG) Watch out for people who try to dazzle you with big words and intellectual double-talk. They want to drag you off into endless arguments that never amount to anything. They spread their ideas through the empty traditions of human beings and the empty superstitions of spirit beings. But that’s not the way of Christ.

Any beliefs, ideas, concepts, opinions, traditions or superstitions, I have, that’s not in agreement with God’s Word, is not truth.

We need lies to be exposed, and truth to be revealed.
