Right and Wrong Thinking Part 2

Right and Wrong Thinking Part 2

Hosea 4:6 (EXB) My people ·will be [or are being] destroyed, because they ·have no [lack] knowledge.

John 17:17 (NIV) Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.

  • Our knowledge of God.
  • Our knowledge of self.
  • Our knowledge of our enemy.
  • Our knowledge of faith.

Proverbs 16:18 (NKJV) Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.

Our self-perception is one of the main places we must humble ourselves and accept God’s views and opinions.

1 Peter 5:6 (NKJV) Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time.

What is humility? If God says I can, I CAN! If God says I am, I AM! If God says it is mine, IT IS MINE!

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
  • Locate the devil’s lies.
  • Remove them.
  • Replace those lies with God’s truth.

1. I am loved!

Isaiah 43:4 (MSG) I am GOD, your personal God, The Holy of Israel, your Savior. I paid a huge price for you . . . . That’s how much you mean to me! That’s how much I love you! I’d sell off the whole world to get you back, trade the creation just for you.

2. I am forgiven!

Hebrews 10:16-17 (NIV)  “This is the covenant I will make with them after that time,” says the Lord. “I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.” Then he adds: “Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more.”
Isaiah 43:18 (NIV) Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.

3. I am righteous!

2 Corinthians 5:21 (KJV) For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

4. I am free!

Galatians 5:13-14 (NIV) You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

5. I belong!

Romans 12:5 (MGS) In this way we are like the various parts of a human body. Each part gets its meaning from the body as a whole, not the other way around. The body we’re talking about is Christ’s body of chosen people. Each of us finds our meaning and function as a part of his body.
