Seeing CHRISTmas

Matthew 1:1-13 (NIV) After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him . . . .” 7 Then Herod called the Magi secretly and found out from them the exact time the star had appeared. He sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and search carefully for the child. As soon as you find him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship him . . . .” 13 An angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get up,” he said, “take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him.”

From the moment of Jesus’s birth, Satan was on a mission to remove Christ from our lives. He doesn’t want us to see Christ.

1 John 2:18 (NIV) This is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour.

  • In the last 55 years the court has removed prayer and Bible reading from classrooms and public institutions.
  • The 10 Commandments have been removed from parks, schools, and courthouses.
  • Statements like “In God We Trust” and “One Nation Under God” have come under massive attack.
  • Even the word “Christmas” is now offensive. We should say, “Happy Holidays, Season’s Greetings, or Merry X-mas! Anything, as long as we don’t have to see the word “CHRIST.”

Satan is on a mission to remove Christ from our lives.

Psalm 23:1-6 (NKJV) The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness. Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me. All the days of my life; I dwell in the house of the Lord.

There was a time that I was not living for Jesus. I got hurt in the church and I didn’t want anything to do with God. My grandmother had this goofy looking sign in her home; and I didn’t understand what it said. I didn’t want anything to do with God, yet God was still reaching out to me.

I had a bunch of questions. Jesus where are you? If you are real, where are you? All I had to do to see Jesus was simply change my focus.

Romans 5:8 (NIV) But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

He was there! He will never leave you. He will always be there trying to help you recover your life.
