TRUST GOD PART 3: SAY THE SAME THING GOD SAYS
The Bible clearly teaches that faith (or trusting God) involves both believing and speaking. For faith to work properly it must be in your heart and in your mouth. Why? Because Heaven responds to your voice.
Daniel 10:12 (NKJV) Then he said to me, “Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words.”
Your voice moves Heaven. It also moves mountains.
Mark 11:22-23 (NKJV) Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.
Your words not only moves mountains, they also determine the course and direction of your life.
James 3:3-5 (NKJV) Indeed, we put bits in horses’ mouths that they may obey us, and we turn their whole body. Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires. Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things.
Proverbs 13:3 (DOUAY) He that hath no guard on his speech shall meet with evil.
Hebrews 10:23 (KJV) Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for He is faithful that promised).
The word “confession” comes from the Greek word homologeo, meaning, to say the same thing, to agree with, to declare openly and to speak out freely. Only when our heart is certain of a truth do we declare it openly and freely.
E. W. Kenyon said, “The reason the majority of Christians are weak, though they are earnest, yet they are weak, is because they have never dared to make a bold confession of who they are in Christ.”
Romans 10:10 (NKJV) For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
First, we believe in our heart. Then, we speak with our mouth. God created the universe by believing and speaking.
2 Corinthians 4:13 (KJV) We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak.
Nothing is impossible to the person who can harmonize their thoughts, feelings and speech with God’s Word.
1 Samuel 17:45-47 (VOICE) You come to me carrying a sword and spear and javelin as your weapons, but I come armed with the name of the Eternal One, the Commander of heavenly armies, the True God of the armies of Israel, the One you have insulted. This very day, the Eternal One will give you into my hands. I will strike you down and cut off your head, and I will feed the birds of the air and the wild animals of the fields with the flesh of your Philistine warriors. Then all the land will know the True God is with Israel, and all of those gathered here will know that the Eternal One does not save by sword and spear. The battle is the Eternal One’s, and He will give you into our hands.
Faith declares the outcome before the fight ever starts. Never let the devil shut your mouth!
